There is / There are

They are used to show the presence of anything in a particular place.
Son utilizados para expresar la presencia de algo o alguien en un lugar en específico; su traducción es "Hay" del verbo haber.

RULES:

1. Use there IS for singular nouns. There is a spider on the wall.
2. Use there IS for non-count items. There is milk on the floor.
3. Use there ARE for many items. There are pencils on my desk.
